CBSC Post 16 Transition
Year 11 students should now be looking ahead to the next stage of education, we are very much looking forward to seeing you and welcoming you to CBSC 6th Form. The transition to 6th Form is a significant one. At CBSC 6th Form, we are aware that the process can be both exciting and challenging and we endeavour to prepare our students, both internal and external for the journey.
For our cohort of September 2020, the journey into 6th Form has been an unusual one, school closures, lack of curriculum time and the cancellation of exams you have worked hard for have all presented unexpected challenges. Due to this, our transition work is more important than ever and it is essential that all 6th Form applicants work diligently in the completion of this subject specific transition work.
All the subject specific transition work for A Level / Level 3 subjects can be accessed through this site, simply click on the tab for your chosen subjects. The learning tasks will help consolidate subject content, develop subject specific skills and prepare students to commence their first topics in each course.
Students are required to bring their completed subject specific transition work to their 6th form interview. Please note that we will confirm details of 6th Form Interviews as soon as we are able. These enrolment interviews will be required for all internal and external applicants.
Traditionally in July we hold a programme of events to support transition to 6th Form. It is not completely clear what schools can viably offer in the current climate, however please be assured that if we can not meet in person, there will be a series of "virtual" transition opportunities to support you commencing July 1st.
Of course, once we are able we will confirm all the details regarding start of term arrangements and 6th Form Induction. In the mean-time please do work hard on your subject specific work.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any information, advice or guidance.
